A fantastic quality 19th Century Walnut Armchair in the manner of Giles Grendey, Cabinet maker to the king. A wonderfully executed example with Crook arms and boldly carved hipped Cabriole legs with pierced claw and ball feet. The front rail is Carved to the centre with an unusual motif, this pattern can be seen on rare examples of this model of chair made by Grendey in the early part of the 18th Century. The piece has developed a good colour and wonderful skin over the years.
The Chair is of good large proportions and in fine solid condition, the seat hight is a perfect 46cm.
