ANTIQUE #SA1183745

Rosewood Campaign Box C.1820

£390    $526    €448
A distinguished example of early 19th-century campaign craftsmanship, this Georgian rosewood box circa 1820 presents beautifully with its rich, dark patina and striking brass-bound accents. Designed for durability and elegance, the brass corner strapping and central escutcheon not only enhance its visual appeal but also reflect its original purpose as a travelling officer’s or gentleman’s companion piece.

The lid opens to reveal an inviting interior lined in vibrant green lining with a pleated satin lid panel—an attractive survival of period workmanship. Inside sits a well-fitting, lift-out tray, offering practical tiered storage and allowing the box to function as both a document and personal effects chest.

Condition: No key and the brass escutcheon to the front isn''t inlaid to perfection.
