This nineteenth-century Japanese Meiji period shodana display cabinet comprises a dark brown hardwood structure measuring 207.5 cm high, 112 cm wide, and 34 cm deep. The tiered architectural form features asymmetrical shelving, enclosed cupboards with small square and rectangular doors, multiple drawers across the lower section, and a carved cresting pediment at the top in the shape of a phoenix with spreading wings.
