Robert Bush Antiques has dated this piece to the Georgian era.
The mahogany is very attractive, a beautiful colour, and the grain of the wood is outstanding.
It would work as a jewel box or simply as storage for anything on a desk or dressing table.
We have simply cleaned it and given it a polish.
The only minor fault is there is a small mark to the top just to right of the inlay, maybe something was spilled on it at some time. We thought about polishing it out but chose not to, so it is absolutely honest and untouched.
