LVS Decorative Arts has dated this piece to the 18th Century.

The one piece outswept horseshoe arm with wonderful worn patina having three stick supports to either side, the arm with an old Blacksmiths repair.
This leads down to the deep solid figured elm seat with wonderful patina, the seat also with an old Blacksmiths repair, the armchair is supported on four ash stick legs.

The armchair has a wonderfully smoky patina to the back, this probably being from in front of an open fire for many years.
This armchair is in very good condition for age, is of stable construction and can go straight into a home.
