An Unusual Georgian Sewing Reel Box

This unusual Georgian fruitwood reel box has six  circular inlaid roundels with a central hole, at the front of the box. This was where the silk threads would have been inserted through to avoid them having to be removed them from the box itself, particularly useful to avoid the silks getting tangled up when working with a variety of threads.
 
There is a sliding lid, also inlaid with diamonds and ebony stringing. This lovely little box stands on four turned feet.
