A Pair of Original Anglo Indian Teak and Cane Plantation Chairs Circa 1910-1920

1900 - 1920
Description

A Pair of Original Anglo Indian Teak and Cane Plantation Chairs circa 1910-1920.

A handsome pair of well constructed, original Anglo Indian antique plantation chairs, circa 1910 to 1920, with strong teak frames and cane seats.

A fine quality plantation chair model with extending fold away arms, peg joint construction presented in mostly excellent condition.

It is rare to find an original matching pair, following the traditional early 20th century design and now highly popular and desirable patio or conservatory chairs, even for use internally, sun lounge chairs etc.

A robust teak frame, structurally excellent and without wobbles, repairs or loss. A matching pair whilst 1 has had more sunlight and/or element exposure and presents marginally more pale where sun has bleached the frame and stain/oil, easily returned to match the other while it also adds authenticity and character.

Both of the chairs are considered in very good condition. The more pale of the 2 has a tiny defect in a small area of cane at the front of its seat, please see photos and a little more timeworn patination but otherwise very good, stable chairs of excellent design.

A superbly stylish pair of plantation chairs with cane seats and fold away, extendable arms, the cane to allow cool air through from beneath the sitter and the extending arms for use as footrests and/or drinks etc..

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.
