Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Sustainable Choice

FAQs

Art Deco is characterised by sleek geometric shapes, streamlined forms, symmetrical designs, and the use of luxurious materials such as exotic veneers, chrome, and glass, representing modernity and glamour.

Cabinets from this era typically employed solid wood frames finished with decorative wood veneers like walnut, burr walnut, or mahogany, often featuring glass panels, brass hardware, and specialized joinery.

Authentic pieces generally exhibit period-correct veneer grain patterns, hand-finished surfaces, traditional dovetail joints in drawers, period hinges, and subtle signs of age and oxidisation on the timber and glass.

This type of statement furniture functions effectively as a focal point in a contemporary setting, paired with minimalist surroundings, neutral walls, and metallic accents to highlight the rich wood grain.

Preserve walnut furniture by keeping it out of direct sunlight to prevent veneer fading, maintaining stable indoor humidity levels, dusting with a soft dry cloth, and occasionally applying microcrystalline wax.
