Description

A Georgian period elm country chair, dating from the late 18th century. Walnut panel back slat. Solid elm frame with well figured plank seat.

Quality totally original chair without damage or repair. The frame has aged and naturally warped, giving the chair a quirky appearance and lots of charm. Very well presented and ready for use.

Dimensions:

This chair measures approximately 88.5 cm (34.875") tall, 47 cm (18.5") wide, and 42.5 cm (16.75") deep. The seat height is approximately 44.5 cm (17.5").

Condition:

Please see the pictures for details of the items condition. - This chair is in a good totally original condition and are structurally sound and sturdy. There are some minor marks, blemishes and wear on the frame. No loose joints. No obvious signs of repair or damage. A few historic and now extinct old worm holes, typical of old elm, which have been treated by way of precaution, and do not affect the sturdiness of the chairs on any way. The chair has aged and naturall warped, but is still structurally sound and the joints are tight. Lovely aged patina, good colour and pleasing wax polish throughout. This chairs has been through the workshop and have been sensitively cleaned and waxed, and are very much ready to be used. - As with all vintage & antique furniture there will be signs of use, marks, wear & tear, etc.
