BEAUTIFUL IRISH KILLARNEY REGION WRITING SLOPE, BEAUTIFULLY INLAID WITH THE VARIOUS WOODS THEY USED TO CRAFT WITH. KILLARNEY WOODWORK BECAME POPULAR IN THE 1800's WHEN TOURISM BEGAN TO BECOME POPULAR.

DECORATED WITH FLORALS AND MADE IN ARBUTUS WOOD, THIS PIECE IS A FINE EXAMPLE OF THE MINIATURE WOODWORK TECHNIQUES THE REGION BECAME KNOW FOR. INLAID TO ALL SURFACES, THE TWIN OPENING FLAPS OPEN TO FORM THE WRITING SLOPE WITH ORIGINAL VELVET FABRIC. TOP SLOPE DOUBLE BACKS TO REVEAL FURTHER STORAGE. COMPARTMENTS UNDERNEATH THE TOP FLAP, WORKING LOCK AND KEY.
