We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

The Arts and Crafts movement emerged in Britain during the late 19th century as a reaction against mass production, promoting traditional craftsmanship, honest construction, and simple forms inspired by medieval and vernacular design.

These pieces typically feature solid native hardwoods such as oak, ash, or elm, joined using traditional mortise and tenon techniques, and often incorporate woven rush or cane for seating.

Authenticity is indicated by traditional hand-joinery, natural patination on the timber, makers marks or stamps from known guilds or workshops, and signs of hand-weaving in the rush seat.

Positioning the chair as a standalone accent piece against minimalist walls or pairing it with a contemporary dining table creates a balanced contrast between historical texture and modern simplicity.

Maintain the wood by applying microcrystalline wax sparingly to nourish the finish, keep rush seats clean using a soft brush attachment on a vacuum, and avoid placing the item in direct sunlight or areas with extreme humidity fluctuations.
