A Regency tea caddy is a small, highly decorative container produced during the early 19th century to securely store expensive loose-leaf tea in British drawing rooms.

These pieces were typically crafted from fine timbers like mahogany, rosewood, or satinwood, frequently featuring intricate contrasting wood veneer, stringing, and brass fittings.

Authenticity is indicated by period-appropriate joinery, hand-cut dovetails, original brass hardware, aged timber patination, and interior compartments fitted for loose leaves or canisters.

This piece works well as a sculptural accent placed on a console table, sideboard top, or bookshelf, adding historical texture and rich wood tones to a room.

Preserve the finish by keeping the item away from direct sunlight and heat sources, dusting gently with a dry microfibre cloth, and occasionally applying appropriate beeswax.
