Description

Superb Anglo Ceylonese trinket/ sewing box in excellent condition. This stunning box has serpentine sides and a hinged lid made from Coromadel wood. Inside the lid is inlaid with small bone dots forming a loop and swirl design with a central disk with a image of an elephant. The box holds two removeable trays of a variety of fitted compartments with lids inlaid with a variety of mixed woods such as satin, fruit and other exotic woods. As with all antiques, there are some imperfections, but this is a stunning box with compartments for all your treasures. Its beautiful design and intricate craftsmanship make it a remarkable piece to own.
