Description

An exquisite example of a late Victorian/early 20th century safe or strongbox. It has a beautifully painted exterior decorated with rectangular panels having stylised corner motifs. The lifting handles to each end, the handle to the lid, the heavy duty hinges, the key escutcheon and the key, are all original. The door opens to reveal a single general-purpose storage compartment which is 32.5cms wide. A great looking, practical way to safely store valuables. English, c.1900.
