An upholstered Louis XVI confessional Bergčre chair with sturdy carved gilt wood frame; profusely decorated with guilloché edges and paterae with acanthus to the scrolled arms. Beautiful wear to the original patinated gilt revealing in places the red boule base gesso and wood. Recently recovered in a bold vibrant heavy brushed cotton with feather down filled cushion raised on slender carved spiral turned tapering legs Circa 1760-80.
