Gilt and Gesso has dated this piece to the 1700s.

A stylish curved high back, a typical feature of the earlier Queen Anne models with shaped top rail and central vase splat, thin shaped moulded rails and original drop-in seat, requiring upholstery. Front cabriole legs with pad feet, turned rails with square terminals where they unite.

A well constructed, cabinet made chair in excellent original condition, just back from our workshop where it received minimal conservation.., no significant historic repairs, a repair to 1 of the pad feet but nothing intrusive and very stable, it sits well.

A superbly stylish Queen Anne chair, a versatile chair for a day or bedroom, hallway or occasional side chair etc.., that feels at home in a classic or contemporary space. A handsome antique chair with a considerable interior design appeal.
