A charming pair of country side chairs in elm. The chairs have finely shaped ladderbacks with ribbon cut cross bars. The chairs are an interesting design comprising elements used in town chairs that would normally be in mahogany. The pair have a great patina and colour and are in good usable condition, though as is so often the case with elm there are some minor areas of old woodworm. A really charming pair of Georgian country chairs. C.1800.
