Hepplewhite Mahogany Carver Armchair C1918 (George V Georgian Style)

Description

A Hepplewhite, Georgian style mahogany carver armchair, circa 1918. This open armchair constructed in solid mahogany features a hooped shaped back with pierced vase shaped splat back. Drop in upholstered seat, covered in cream damask fabric. Shaped open arms. Raised on square tapered front legs, shaped chamfered rear legs all supported by H-stretchers. The reverse of the back seat rail has a brass plaque, dating to 1918.

An attractive, high quality and well presented armchair. In good condition and ready for use.

Dimensions:

This armchair measures approximately 98.5 cm (38.75") tall, 61.5 cm (24.25") wide, and 58 cm (22.75") deep. The seat height is approximately 47 cm (18.5).

Condition:

Please see the pictures for details of the items condition. - This armchair is in a good condition commensurate with its age. Some minor marks and blemishes. No obvious signs of damage or repairs. No loose joints. Good colour throughout, with good polish and pleasing aged patina. Upholstery is structurally reasonable, and the covers have a few small marks. In the workshop it has been sensitively cleaned and waxed. Very serviceable and ready for use. - As with all vintage & antique furniture there will be signs of use, marks, wear & tear, etc.
