Antique Edwardian Mahogany Inlaid Fretwork Corner Arm Chair New Upholstery C1890

£295    $376    €356
Antique Edwardian Corner chair.

A rare antique corner armchair, ideal for use with a davenport desk.

We bring to you this excellent condition Edwardian Mahogany corner chair believed to be made around C1890. This very rare chair features a shaped arm rail with raised and inlaid centre back support which is raised on 3 square strung tapering pillars with ornate fretwork inlaid back slats in between. The chair has shaped and strung front rails giving its upholstered seat a lovely unusual curved shape. The chairs base consists of simple square legs with an X stretcher between.

This chair would be ideal for using as an occasional desk chair for a small desk such as a Davenport, the seat shape allows the chair to tuck in close and rests into the corner of any room as an accent or chair for guests.

This chair has a surprisingly ergonomic shape and is comfortable from having the seat-pad stripped to a bare frame and re-upholstered here, in house at Lincoln Restorations. For the top covering we chose a beautifully subtle floral gold and cream material which we feel suits the chair perfectly, complete with a matching gold braid. The chair has been re glued so is perfectly solid with no loose joints or wobbles and is free from any woodworm.

This charming chair is in a lovely original condition which we have just enhanced by carefully waxing this item to preserve and give a natural sheen.

We would be able to re-upholster this chair (for obvious added costs) in a material of your choice if the top covering is not to your taste, please enquire about this.

Please note; This item is in a lovely condition for its age as shown by the photographs below, however being an antique item of this age there may be minor blemishes here and there which we feel adds to its charm and character. This item is structurally solid, in good order with no loose joints or breaks and has been thoroughly checked over in our workshop making this item ready for its new home.
