A good English regency period mahogany bergère armchair, C.1810.
Featuring reeded arms and top crest rail, raised on turned tapering forelegs terminating in original brass castors.
With fitted traditionally upholstered deep-buttoned squab cushions, in a dark tan leather.
Featuring a wonderful original colour and patina.
Structurally sound, canework also sound with re-caned seat. Stamped ‘IH’ to the underside of the seat rail which relates to a number of Gillow’s journeymen and recorded pieces of this period.
