Strictly Vetted Dealers

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

FAQs

The Regency style, spanning the early 19th century in Britain, is characterised by classical proportions, neoclassical motifs, fine veneers such as mahogany and rosewood, and sophisticated brass or satinwood inlay work.

These pieces were typically constructed from dense hardwoods like mahogany, rosewood, or satinwood, featuring hand-cut dovetail joints, float glass panels, and often lined interiors of velvet or baize.

Authentic pieces exhibit period-appropriate joinery such as hand-cut dovetails, old window glass with minor imperfections or bubbles, traditional animal glue use, and natural oxidisation and patina consistent with age.

An antique display cabinet can serve as a striking focal point in a modern room, used to curate and showcase small collections of ceramics, glassware, or books, contrasting traditional craftsmanship with clean architectural lines.

Preserve antique wood by keeping it out of direct sunlight and away from heat sources, applying periodic coats of natural beeswax, and cleaning glass surfaces gently with a lint-free cloth and mild cleaner.
