Description

This is a super pair of Meiji period Japanese Satsuma vases by the artist Ishiyama. The vases are superbly decorated by this skilled hand and have finely painted scenes of families in a garden setting holding thier children aloft to pick blossom from the trees. The scenes are on a brocade background and are bordered by enamelled panels of floral designs with pretty pastel coloured flowers. The pair have slight rubbing to the gilding around the necks but otherwise are in perfect condition with no damage or restoration. These measure 22 cms high by 11 cms wide.
