Description

An Antique mahogany tapered bible box that dates to around 1850

In excellent original condition, in a deep rich brown waxed finish with its original patina, with gothic ecclesiastical brass hinges and a working lock and key

Has an unusual shape as it narrows from the base to the top. It came from a chapel in North Wales where it spent its’ life storing prayer books and bibles

It measures 26 inches wide, 13 inches deep at the base tapering to 12 inches at the top and 14 inches high

A fabulous rare item that would look magnificent in a period home , in a hallway for storing shoes or as a small toy box etc
