Driscolls Antiques Ltd has dated this piece to the Edwardian era.
1910 and consists of two carvers and six dining chairs. They have shield shaped backs and decorative pierced back splats with wheat sheaf design, typical of the Hepplewhite style. They stand on moulded front legs, splayed back legs and have a H stretcher for added stability. This fine set of antique chairs has aged to a rich mahogany shade with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
