Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

The Queen Anne style emerged in the early 18th century, characterised by curved lines, cabriole legs, pad or club feet, and a focus on comfort and domestic intimacy rather than heavy ornamentation.

Period wing chairs typically feature frames constructed from native hardwoods such as walnut, oak, or beech, joined using traditional mortise and tenon techniques, and traditionally stuffed with natural fibres like horsehair and wool.

Authentication involves examining the timber grain, tool marks, joinery methods, and the wear patterns on the frame and feet, as 18th-century construction details differ significantly from 19th- or 20th-century revival pieces.

An antique wing chair serves as a focal point in a modern room when paired with minimalist or contemporary furnishings, bridging historical craftsmanship with current interior palettes.

Preservation requires keeping the piece away from direct sunlight and heat sources to prevent timber warping and fabric fading, alongside gentle vacuuming with a soft brush attachment.
