Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. The upper section has a glazed single door opening to reveal glass shelves against a vibrant red backing, while the lower panel displays a hand-painted scene signed by V. Gossens. Measuring 151 cm high, 73 cm wide, and 40 cm deep, the cabinet provides a compact display and storage area suitable for a living room, dining room, or hallway. It functions effectively to hold and showcase porcelain, glassware, or small decorative items in a home interior today.

FAQs

A French vitrine cabinet is a glass-fronted display case introduced during the 18th century to showcase precious collectibles, porcelain, and objet dart while safeguarding them from dust and damage.

Traditional construction relies on fine hardwood frames veneered with exotic woods such as kingwood or rosewood, fitted with cast gilt bronze (ormolu) mounts, clear glass panels, and topped with shaped marble slabs.

Authentic pieces exhibit hand-carved joinery, heavy chiseled bronze mounts, rich marquetry or Vernis Martin hand-painted panels, and natural imperfections in hand-blown glass and hand-cut veneers.

Position the cabinet against a neutral wall as a focal point, curate a sparse selection of ceramic or glass items inside to allow light transmission, and pair it with modern art for a contemporary eclectic contrast.

Dust wood veneers regularly with a dry microfibre cloth, avoid harsh chemical cleaners on gilt bronze mounts, clean glass panels with a mild cleaner applied to a cloth rather than sprayed directly, and maintain consistent room humidity.
