Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

An Edwardian music cabinet is a specialised piece of furniture produced during the Edwardian era, roughly spanning from 1901 to 1910, designed specifically to store sheet music and scores for home pianos.

These cabinets were typically constructed from solid walnut, mahogany, or satinwood, often featuring fine dovetail joints, glass-panelled doors, brass hardware, and internal drop-front shelves or vertical partitions.

Authenticity is identified by period-appropriate timber patination, hand-cut joinery, original brass locks and escutcheons, maker plaques, and internal shelving specifically proportioned for standard sheet music dimensions.

This piece can serve as a compact bedside table, a hallway storage unit for keys and mail, or an accent side table in a living room, blending historical character with modern utility.

Preservation involves keeping the wood away from direct sunlight and heat sources to prevent cracking, dusting with a dry microfibre cloth, and occasionally applying microcrystalline wax to nourish the finish.
