This eighteenth-century Georgian wine glass is formed from clear lead glass in a traditional English country house style. The transparent vessel features a faceted stem decorated with diamond cuts alongside a centre knop, paired with an ogee bowl that includes basal cutting above the stem join. The whole piece rests upon a plain conical foot with a flat circular base. Visible physical details include precise geometric cutting throughout the stem facets, smooth polished rims, and the reflective translucent quality of the crystal material. The object measures 14.5 cm high, 5 cm wide, and 7 cm deep. Items of this type function well displayed on a sideboard top in a dining room or living space, serving either as a decorative glassware accent or as part of a traditional table setting.

A Georgian facet stem wine glass is an eighteenth-century British drinking vessel characterized by geometric diamond or hexagonal cuts ground into its stem to refract light, popular during the late Excise Period.

These glasses were hand-blown using heavy lead crystal, also known as flint glass, which provided clarity, weight, and a resonant sound when tapped.

Authentic period examples feature a snapped or ground pontil mark under the base, subtle hand-cutting irregularities, natural surface wear on the rim and foot rim, and significant weight due to high lead content.

Display individual pieces or small groupings on a illuminated sideboard top, inside a glazed cabinet, or on a bar cart where natural or spotlighting accentuates the faceted cuts.

Wash by hand using lukewarm water and gentle liquid soap, avoiding dishwashers, abrasive materials, or sudden temperature variations that could cause thermal shock.
