This clear hand-blown lead glass is an 18th-century Georgian gin glass with a bell bowl, a balustroid stem featuring shoulder and basal knops, and a folded conical foot. The piece exhibits a slight lean, age-related wear and tear to the rim of the foot, and a rough pontil mark on the underside alongside several collector stickers. The object stands 13.8 cm high, 6.5 cm wide, and 5.4 cm deep. Items of this type suit a sideboard top in a gentleman's library. The vessel functions as a historic drinking glass for display or decorative appreciation within a traditional interior setting today.

A Georgian balustroid glass is an 18th-century drinking vessel featuring a stem shaped with knops inspired by architectural balusters. Popular during the early to mid-18th century in Britain, these glasses were designed for serving spirits, wines, or cordials.

These glasses were hand-blown using heavy lead flint glass, which incorporated lead oxide to increase clarity, weight, and refractive index compared to earlier soda glass formulations.

Authentic pieces feature signs of hand production, such as a rough or ground pontil mark underneath the base, slight asymmetry, tiny air bubbles or striations within the glass, and a folded rim on the foot designed to prevent chipping.

Display antique glassware inside a glazed cabinet, on an open sideboard tray, or lit within a glass-fronted bookcase to highlight the transparency and structural details of the stem.

Hand wash gently in tepid water using mild liquid soap and a soft cloth, avoiding hot water and dishwashers which cause thermal shock or clouding. Dry immediately with a lint-free microfibre towel to prevent water spots.
