Imari porcelain is a traditional type of Japanese export ceramic originating from Arita in Hizen province, known for its distinctive cobalt blue, iron red, and gilt palette.

These vessels are crafted from fine kaolin clay, glazed, and painted underglaze in blue before being overglazed with iron red, green, and gold details, then fired multiple times.

Authentic pieces often exhibit minor kiln imperfections, hand-painted brushwork with depth, traditional Japanese motifs, and age-related wear on the foot rim.

Position the vessel as a focal point on a neutral surface to highlight its intricate hand-painted patterns, pairing it with minimalist furnishings to create a balanced contrast.

Dust gently with a soft, dry cloth and wash only when necessary using lukewarm water and mild soap, avoiding harsh chemicals and abrasive sponges.
