Description

Here is a superb Sunburst Art Deco mirror with gilded sunbeams striking out of a silvered band of clouds enclosing the central mirror plate.

In wonderful antique condition, the mirror is carved in wood with an over-layer of gesso plaster then water gilded - the rays as bright and rich as the day they were crafted, each one catching the light. The sunbeams are arranged in a two tiered form, which really give a three dimensional quality, helping to reflect back into the room.

The mirror plate itself is original and has ageing / foxing - please see the photographs to ensure that this natural ageing is to your taste - personally I find it desirable and feel that it adds great depth and character to a mirror

The whole mirror is 76cm in diameter, with the actual mirror plate being 20cm across.
