An early country Windsor chair of stick back form, fairly primitive in style but with fascinating history. Marked under the seat as being the “blacksmith’s chair “ it has obviously been damaged in its life & repaired with a pair of steel rod back supports on a yoke frame, but cleverly concealed. The back is now sturdy & solid on this late 18th century elm seat chair.
