Strictly Vetted Dealers

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Sustainable Choice

Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

This rare 1920s wall-mounted triple mirror exemplifies Art Deco design through its streamlined geometry and functional elegance. Formed from polished chrome, glass, and brass, the piece exhibits a bright silver colour scheme across its multiple components. The construction incorporates three circular panels joined by hinged, articulated arms, a faceted hexagonal wall bracket secured with visible screw fixings, and a smaller inset magnifying lens on the central glass panel. Age-related patination appears around the mount of the inset lens and on the mounting hardware. Measuring 25.4 cm in diameter across the central mirror panel, this pivoting design suits installation in narrow wall spaces within a modern bedroom, dressing area, or bathroom where adjustable angles are required for grooming.

FAQs

Pioneered in early twentieth-century France by makers such as Miroir Brot, multi-panel adjustable vanity mirrors were created to provide angled views for grooming. These designs gained significant popularity during the Art Deco era due to their functional precision and polished geometric metalwork.

Classic examples were constructed using solid brass frames plated in chrome or nickel, fitted with silvered mirrored glass. Joints and extension arms were engineered from machined metal hardware to withstand frequent movement.

Authentic period pieces feature heavy chrome-plated brass framing, precise mechanical hinging, and occasionally maker stamps or engravings near the mounting bracket. The glass often exhibits slight age-related silvering degradation or light desilverisation around the perimeters.

Position the piece above a contemporary bathroom vanity unit or a bedroom dressing table to serve as a functional focal point. The metallic finish pairs effectively with marble surfaces, metro tiling, or dark paint schemes.

Clean metal components with a soft microfiber cloth and specialised non-abrasive metal polish to remove surface tarnish or fingerprints. Avoid spraying liquid glass cleaner directly near the edge seams to prevent moisture from penetrating the rear silvering.
