Here is a fine quality antique set of 8 Georgian style dining chairs, in the style of the Chippendale period, with ribbon backs, constructed during the late Victorian period, circa 1880, with newly upholstered seats, in excellent condition. The 8 Georgian style dining chairs are constructed of solid mahogany, designed with elegant pierced ribbon shaped backs, incorporating finely carved floral motifs, replicated on the ears, and acanthus leaf scroll carvings on the carver arms, flanked by moulded vertical rails. The stuff over seats have been newly upholstered in top quality hard wearing antique gold chenille upholstery, with traditional hessian material to the underside. Therefore, the seats are in excellent and clean condition, with no marks. The seats are firm but comfortable; you do not sink into the seat. These are a heavy set of chairs which indicates they are of very good quality. The 8 Georgian style dining chairs are raised on tapering moulded legs, terminating on spade feet to the front, with sabre legs to the rear, united by a �H� stretcher for additional strength. The armchairs mirror the design of the singles, with the addition of two splayed scroll arms, secured by shaped vertical supports. Please note, this is a true set of 8 Georgian style dining chairs they have not been matched together from smaller sets of similar chairs.
