19th Century Dutch Colonial Carved Oak Burgomeister Chair

Description

A stunning 19th century Dutch colonial carved oak burgomeister chair, together with its original custom fitted cushion.

The chair has a carved oak crested rail, dated '1634' to the centre. The back has three leaf and wicker carved roundels above a wicker seat. The seat is raised upon six carved square legs, united by turned stretchers.

The cushion is in original condition and as such shows considerable wear. The chair itself remains in an excellent condition throughout.

A fine and striking piece.
