This is a super quality and very decorative early 19th century French gilt mirror with classical urn and garlands in lovely original condition. Circa 1830.
The original mercury mirror plate is beautifully aged and gives you this foxed and mellow reflection, also retaining much of its original gold leaf with some later restoration.
Lovely small to medium size mirror, so it will hang well as an overmantle, but ideally as a console table mirror or hall mirror perhaps.
The condition is absolutely how you would hope to find such a piece, with signs of ageing gracefully and something which should be admired in any setting!
Not a heavy mirror, so it will hang from a single but solid fixing in your wall. There is a wire fitted for hanging as you will see from the photo showing the reverse, which is also all original.
Measuring:
38 inches or 97 cm high
25 inches or 63.5 cm wide
1 inch or 2.5 cm deep
Mirror glass 61 cm x 53 cm
