Its About Time has dated this French Inlaid Mantel Clock to the 1860s.
It has a large enamel dial with Navy blue Roman numerals and beautiful gilt hands. Boxwood stringing to all sides of the case and floral marquetry inlays . The fine French, 8 day 'countwheel' movement striking on a bell. The benefit of a 'countwheel' clock is the ability to run the clock in silent operation. Malecot a Paris were working in the early to mid 19th Century and this clock would date to circa 1860. A great little clock!
