An Antique French Jewel Box

Description

A shadow of its former self which must have been magnificent. Never the less this is an extremely attractive and very decorative jewel or work box with a wonderfully rich look. The interior is clean an the box locks with its key. Almost all the studs are present together with brass fleur de lis motifs on either side. Remnants of sliver/gold thread and superb needlework panels. Initials 'C P' to the interior. The photographs show the condition well. Probably late 19thC.

Note..the fleur de lis was a widely used motif of the French Royalty
