Wayne Long Antiques and Interiors has dated this Inlaid Mahogany Display Cabinet to the 19th Century.
The frieze with a central rectangular frieze drawer with a flaming urn, attendant griffins and foliate marquetry and pen-work detail, with further ribbon and swag detail to the ends. The three rectangular doors each with bevelled glass and opening to reveal an adjustable glass shelved interior and relined in fine quality water marked silk. The doors also having the finest marquetry and pen-work panels depicting dolphins and foliate inlaid detail, with bevelled glass ends. The whole raised on splayed feet. This cabinet has been constructed using the finest fiddleback mahogany throughout. This cabinet in my opinion is by Edwards and Roberts and its quality is as you would expect from the premier cabinet makers Edwards & Roberts English circa 1900
