ANTIQUE #SA525853

Large Pair Of Oak Lions Head Armchairs

Status: This item has been sold
Sold by: Tom Scott Antiques

Fantastic and impressive pair of solid oak high back armchairs with Lions heads and turned frame, possibly Flemish, circa 1900.

They are a great pair of chairs and are a great statement piece, obviously the current upholstery needs to be completed they are offered for sale as you see them here, but I can assist with the upholstery process if required.

The carving is good throughout the frames, the oak has aged well, but will come up well with further wax polishing, unless you are keen to have them in their current faded oak finish...let me know!

These are hall chairs, fireside chairs or salon chairs really, comfortable and with the high backs, they give good support too. Not so much for using as dining ''throne'' carver chairs due to the sprung seat height being a bit low for dining...though you could change this if they are to be fully re upholstered.

They measure:

45” or 114cm high

27” or 69cm wide

24” or 61cm deep

17 1/2” or 45cm seat height
