A pair of very pretty and elegant painted mahogany French side chairs.
Late 19th century- c1890.
Louis XV, rococo style.
Caned seat and back, with the original and rare upholstered padded back.
The original two tone paint is wonderful, beautifully time worn and characterful. Having a chocolate brown to the seat and back, then a warm rich bronze gold to the legs and sides. Perfectly and naturally distressed.
Surprisingly heavy, sturdy and strong.
The condition is excellent antique condition.

Height-91cm. Height to top of seat-44cm.
Width-45cm Width of slightly wider chair-48cm.
Depth-40.5cm. Depth of second chair-42.5cm.
