A pretty set of four Victorian walnut dining chairs of excellent quality, c1860.
Made by quality cabinet maker Arthur Blain, of 35 Paradise Street, Liverpool. Established in 1835.
Bearing the stamp. A Blain Liverpool, to each chair.
Having a shaped top-rail, over a shell-carved centre rail, over a serpentine shaped front rail
Stuffed seats, over carved and scrolled cabriole forelegs, with sabre back supports.
Lovely rich warm colour to the walnut, with an excellent patina.
Upholstered to a very high standard using traditional methods. The fabric in a brown / gold velour, with a cream / gold trim.
Super quality chairs.
The condition to the chairs frames is excellent antique condition, very strong and sturdy. With expected but very minor signs of age and use. The fabric is in excellent, clean unworn condition.
We also have the table available, which is also walnut and of a similar age.
