Recently acquired from a private source this is an early, circa 1830, and rare form of revolving desk chair - the oldest example Culvertons has acquired to-date.
As you can see the chair has been fairly recently recovered by its previous owners; reputedly, it was handed down from generation to generation, but on inspection it does appear that an earlier horse hair padding may still be in place.
The chair is in surprisingly good condition, when taking in consideration its age and function - it still revolves well on its original bearings.
Culvertons are offering this rare chair in its present unrestored condition - please contact us if you have any queries regarding this item.
