Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

This Victorian oak shop fitting cabinet from around 1880 comprises two large sections in a warm brown timber finish with an original polish. The lower base section features a plinth base, outer panelled cupboard doors and a central bank of drawers fitted with brass cup handles, while the upper section incorporates three slanted glazed front doors and spindle turnings. Interior storage includes original loose glass shelves and a mirror back. Practical considerations require noting that the unit stands 211 cm high overall, 91 cm high to the base section, 211 cm wide and 64 cm deep at the base section. Today, this piece serves well in a home as a striking display and storage unit within an industrial loft interior, suitable for a living room, dining room or large hallway to showcase collectibles, tableware or books behind the glazed doors while keeping household items neatly stored in the cupboards and drawers below.

Victorian shop fitting cabinets were commercial furniture pieces constructed during the nineteenth century for retail establishments, such as haberdashers, chemists, and drapers, to display goods securely while providing organized storage.

These commercial fittings were constructed from durable hardwoods such as oak, mahogany, or pitch pine, incorporating plate glass panels, brass cup handles, and smooth timber drawers.

Authentic retail fittings feature hand-cut dovetail drawer joints, original metal hardware with natural patination, solid timber backboards, and wear patterns consistent with commercial usage.

Large retail fittings function as statement kitchen islands, sideboards in spacious dining areas, or display storage within boutique retail spaces and home libraries.

Keep the wood conditioned by applying beeswax polish along the grain twice yearly, clean glass panels with non-ammonia formulas, and maintain stable interior humidity to avoid timber movement.
