Large Victorian Silver Heart Shaped Mirror W.comyns

Description

Here we have on offer a suberb quality solid cast silver heart shaped mirror made in London in 1896 , makers mark reads WC over IL , we have seen this model of mirror a few times made by the renowned William Comyns , we are unsure what the IL on the hallmark represents ?

Whoever the makers there is no disguising the superb craftsmanship and heavy gauge silver used to form this pretty dressing chest mirror ,the base has a loin mask central cartouche between a pair of cherubs amidst floral vines , there are further cherubs up either side culminating in a pair holding the monogrammed central cartouche ,the back has been very carefully relined in a blue velvet giving this antique mirror a fresh feel ready for the next 110 yrs use , the best available !!
