Furniture from the Edwardian and Art Nouveau eras (circa 18901910) frequently features sinuous botanical motifs, stylized floral marquetry, elegant proportions, and fine inlay work using contrasting hardwoods and mother-of-pearl.

Cabinets from this era were typically constructed from mahogany or walnut, embellished with marquetry inlays of fruitwood, boxwood, mother-of-pearl, and fitted with handcrafted brass, copper, or pewter hardware.

Authentic pieces feature distinctive organic motifs, fine hand-inlaid details, period-correct locks and hinges, and period craftsmanship signatures such as stamped cabinet makers marks or numbered lock plates.

A music cabinet functions effectively in contemporary homes as a hallway accent, media console for vinyl records, or entry storage, pairing dark timber tones with neutral wall palettes.

Maintain timber surfaces by dusting with a soft, lint-free cloth and applying beeswax occasionally, while keeping the cabinet away from direct heat sources and fluctuating humidity to protect delicate marquetry and shell inlays.
