This Edwardian display cabinet dates from 1900 and uses warm brown mahogany, glass, fabric, and satinwood inlay. The structure incorporates a raised pediment top, geometric astragal glazing bars across the single glazed door and side panels, decorative banding, and square tapered legs. Minor age-related marks and wear are visible across the timber surfaces, along with a light-lined interior and three display levels formed by two internal shelves. The cabinet measures 142 cm high, 61 cm wide, and 31.5 cm deep. In a contemporary or traditional home, this piece functions practically as a china cabinet, curio cabinet, or collector's display case for showcasing fine porcelain, silver, glassware, and other decorative collections in a living room, dining room, or hallway. The refined architectural lines and glazed sides allow treasured items to be admired from multiple angles within the interior space.

Edwardian display cabinets, dating from 1901 to 1910, are characterised by lighter, more delicate proportions than earlier Victorian furniture. They frequently feature mahogany, satinwood crossbanding, straight lines, and geometric astragal glazing.

These cabinets were predominantly crafted from solid mahogany or mahogany veneers, often accented with satinwood inlay or boxwood stringing. Glazed doors feature thin timber glazing bars and clear glass, while interior linings often utilised fabric or moire silk.

Authentic Edwardian pieces usually display hand-cut dovetail joints, original brass hardware, and precise timber inlay work. Examining the back board reveals hand-sawn secondary timbers, such as pine or oak, along with natural age-related wear around the hinges and feet.

An Edwardian glazed cabinet functions well as a focal piece in a modern living space, dining room, or hallway. Contrast its dark timber tones against neutral walls and style the interior shelves with contemporary ceramics, glassware, or art books.

Keep the cabinet away from direct sunlight and central heating sources to prevent wood shrinkage or veneer cracking. Clean the timber surfaces using a beeswax polish applied with a soft cloth, and clean glass panels using a lint-free cloth dampened with dilute glass cleaner.
