Strictly Vetted Dealers

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Sustainable Choice

Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

This 19th-century French Louis XV Revival occasional table is fashioned from kingwood with harewood accents in a warm brown tone. The circular two-tier design showcases geometric parquetry inlay chequered with small rosettes across the top surface, the single drawer front, and the lower shelf. The table incorporates a single drawer fitted with a small round brass knob, curved cabriole legs, and brass foot sabots. Standing at a height of 75 cm with a top diameter of 41 cm, this compact occasional table fits well at the end of a sofa in a living room or as a bedside stand in a bedroom, providing surface space and storage.

FAQs

A kingwood occasional table is a compact accent piece originating in 18th-century France, crafted with rich exotic kingwood veneers and designed for flexible placement within a room.

These tables are built with hardwood frames overlaid with thin decorative wood veneers arranged in geometric parquetry patterns, frequently reinforced with cast brass sabots on the feet.

Authentic period-style pieces feature distinct cabriole legs, hand-laid veneer work, fine brass mounts or sabots, and traditional joinery such as hand-cut drawers.

A two-tier table functions effectively beside a sofa or bed, using the lower shelf for books or decorative objects while leaving the top surface clear for lighting.

Veneered furniture should be dusted regularly with a dry cloth and kept away from direct heat sources to prevent moisture loss and veneer movement.
