D and A Binder Ltd has dated this Oak Shop Display Cabinet to the 1910s.
The cabinet has a mahogany frame with beautifully curved glazed ends and a full-height glazed door to the front. Internally, there are three curved cut shaped glass shelves, each following the bowed form of the cabinet and supported on adjustable metal brackets, allowing the shelf heights to be changed as required.

One of the most distinctive features is the parquetry floor, made up of contrasting timbers arranged in a geometric pattern and bordered with curved bands that follow the shape of the cabinet. The whole piece is raised on four square tapered legs.

The cabinet also retains its original glass, which shows some scratches and general surface wear consistent with its age and previous commercial use.
A very elegant antique showcase with excellent visibility from all sides, it would work particularly well for displaying jewellery, objects, ceramics or smaller collections within a retail, gallery or domestic interior.
We also have another very similar F. Sage & Co. display cabinet available in mahogany .
