Description

A 19th Century High Backed Elm and Beech Windsor Chair.

With a thumb nail lined hoop, enclosing tapered spindles, surrounding a shaped and pierced back splat. The broad arms, sweeping around a yoke to finish with rounded hand holds. The arms supported by ring turned and tapered uprights centred by a repeating lower splat. The generous saddle seat standing on four outward splayed ring turned and tapering legs, joined by double stretchers, likewise ring turned and tapering.

Date circa 1850.

Height 45 1/4 inches, 115cm.

Width 26 1/4 inches, 69cm.

Depth 26 inches, 66cm.
